Is it an attitude or a habitude?

Yes a habitude. A habitude are the words ‘habit’ and ‘attitude’ combined. Similar to gratitude (‘grateful’ and ‘attitude’ combined), habitude is creating the habits and attitudes that drive us to success.

Habits – we all have them. Some serve us well and others not so much! We develop habits when we practice the behavior and or belief repeatedly. That’s why it’s important for us to create habits that move us forward in the direction of living the life we dream, and seeing wild success in our business or career.

Our attitude also impacts our ability to succeed. A positive attitude can move us forward, while a negative attitude can keep us stuck.

During my younger years I had some habits and attitudes that kept me stuck, and prevented me from living the life I dreamed. Some ran so deep they became like second nature.

Confessions of a Former Frock-oholic

For years I had a poor attitude around money. Too much meant I was greedy, and not enough meant I was struggling but at least worthy.

I was an awesome budgeter. Those who know me know I can turn an 11lb turkey into a dinner that can fill 36 bellies. It’s a true skill set. Some of this came as a result of my childhood and the scarcity mentality around food, or lack-there-of. But long after I could afford to buy a 25lb turkey, I still agonized over buying such an expensive piece of meat.

lightbulbOne day I had the good fortune to hear someone talk about how the more money they made, the more they could serve others.

Hmm, why hadn’t I realized this? Service is definitely a habitude I have. It drives who I am. Every company I have owned or worked at were always fully engaged in fundraising activities.

It took me a long time to see past my own block and beliefs around money. Yet once I did, everything changed. In order to donate more to those who serve women and children, I had to develop a new habitude around money! This required big shifts in my mindset and self-assessment.

Frock Off Inc. was founded on the basis of touching and serving 13.1 million lives. Business growth (ie. making money) and partnerships are required to be the change I am seeking.

Today my money habitude is common practice. The results are that we are helping far more people!

This is also the reason why I have a coach for my business, and I surround myself with others who are raising the bar for me and themselves all the time. The secret sauce to living the life you dream, is to keep improving yourself and your skills. In turn this leads you to continual improvement in your business, wealth, and personal success.

To do this you need to always be immersing yourself with those who are walking their talk. Coaches and others who are living their best life and pushing the envelope.

Simple

If we want a different result we must:

  1. Stand up with the right mindset and unite with a like-minded community.
  2. Stretch and create discomfort (if it was easy – you would have already done it).
  3. Question our habits, our attitudes regularly.
