Was I Scared? Hell yeah!

Act like a lady think like a boss

That moment you realize you made it through five years, and are on a beach with your dog and your thoughts walking your talk and working to serve others.

That’s a great moment!

In 2012 I opened Frock Off Inc., and for one year I generated NO REVENUE! Not a penny. Instead, I invested in me! I went all in I drained my bank account from its lovely savings I had worked so hard to save. I was a good saver! Too good!

I decided to bet on me! To stand on my story, and not in it. I knew it all hinged on me standing on the story. Was I scared? Hell YEAH! Scared to death!

My savings dwindled down each month, and my resolve grew stronger. In September of 2013 I was so close! I knew that by November 1, 2013 my life would forever be changed, and I would never be able to hide again.

And then it happened. I began to have periods of self-doubt. I started questioning my sanity. After all, who was I to think I could affect the kind of change I wanted to see?

I managed to talk myself into moving forward – it was time, no matter what.

Today as I walked the beach in Los Barriles it hit me. There was no fanfare as I realized that it has been five years since I opened my business and shared my story. It was just me and #MiaMukluksDibblee as I came to this realization, and yet I did the dance of joy .. the one where you laugh, and a few joyful tears roll down your cheeks.

I thought of doing a cartwheel, but after a second I thought perhaps I should just run down the beach screaming WE DID IT! And so we did.

The first five years!

YES, WE DID IT!

And so here is where I acknowledge those who rode the bumpy roller coaster with me.Some of you felt each bump and stayed the course. You said ‘YES’ in spite of EVERYTHING! YOU said yes in the absence of proof. YOU believed in the message, the promise, and that collectively we would all rise to success!

And we have. The day we opened our doors I had $2K left in my once beloved savings account, and that was not enough to cover the line of credit.

Megan Stacey, YOU said yes well before we had ANY PROOF. This is our eighth year working together! (although it feels much longer… wink, wink!) THANK YOU! Megan Stacey.

Megan is a co-producer, contractor and often a sponsor of our live events. Frock Off Is one of her many clients, and we work closely on the branding, communication and live events. Often daily.

Josh Aldrich, my web designer and amazing son, was a champion of me starting my business ten years before I even said yes. He was relentless! THANK YOU Josh of idreamdigital.com.

So how fitting is it that we are launching a new website shortly, and bringing MORE deliciousness and access to success so that we can continue to unleash the frockaliciousness in life, love, and business?

So Happy Anniversary Frock Off Inc.! And to all of you feeling scared to say yes to you and your dreams to live your legacy life I say – stand on the story and GO FOR IT!

Milestone met – FIVE YEARS!
